Dr. Habib ur Rahman

Dr. Habib ur Rehman is a distinguished Islamic scholar, academic, researcher and specialist in Seerah studies. He holds a PhD in Islamic Studies from the University of Karachi, an MA in Islamic Studies, a BEd, and completed Dars-e-Nizami with specialization in Islamic jurisprudence from the Aleemiyah Institute of Islamic Studies.

He currently serves as Director General of the Seerat Research Center and Associate Professor of Islamic Studies and Islamic Culture at Aisha Bawany Government College, Karachi. Previously, he taught at Quaid-e-Millat Government College and served as visiting faculty at the Aleemiyah Institute. He has also taught Cambridge O and A Level Islamiyat.

Dr. Rehman is an experienced PhD and MPhil viva examiner for several Pakistani universities. His academic interests include Seerah, Islamic jurisprudence, Hadith, Quranic studies, comparative religion, philosophy, education and Islamic socio-economic thought. He has edited several Urdu, English and Arabic volumes of the Encyclopedia of Muhammad ﷺ and authored books, research papers and educational texts, including Cambridge-endorsed Islamiyat material.

He received national awards at the International Seerah Conferences in 2019 and 2022. A frequent conference speaker and media contributor, he has addressed subjects including interfaith harmony, deradicalization, environmental protection, business ethics and the contemporary relevance of the Prophet’s ﷺ teachings.
